Research Chemist/Engineer
There is an immediate opening for a Research Chemist/Engineer for our Gas-to-Fuels program. The successful candidate will have a PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering with expertise in heterogeneous catalysis and/or material science. Expected qualities include 1) milestone driven, 2) self-managing and 3) task focused. Desire and ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced company is a necessity.

Job Responsibilities:
- Synthesize and evaluate catalysts and/or solid reactants for use GRT Gas-to-Fuels project.
- Design and run bench scale experiments for gathering data required for scaling up the process to pilot and commercial scale
- Provide catalyst synthesis and characterization expertise and insight to better understand heterogeneous catalysts and their catalytic systems.
- Work with research, development and process development scientists to develop novel and improved catalysts for commercial deployment. .
- Conduct literature searches
- Analyze results, solve complex problems, document conclusions and contribute to intellectual property portfolio.
- Invent, improve, trouble-shoot and debottleneck processes.
- Participate in research team effort from inception to commercialization.
- Work effectively in team environment with technical experts including chemists and chemical engineers.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary technical groups and exhibiting strong teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have:
- A PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering
- Experimental and theoretical knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Analytica techniques used to study heterogeneous catalysts and/or supports.
- Reaction kinetics analysis.
- Capability of designing, synthesizing, and evaluating heterogeneous catalyst systems.
- Demonstrated creativity and a desire to solve challenging and complex problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to work in a team environment.
- Experience using GC, GC-MS, BET and XRD.
